Since 1984, Judi Vaillancourt has been inspired by Victorian era Chalkware and adapted the medium into her own contemporary fine art. Today, Judi uses her collection of 3,000+ antique confectionary moulds to create a three-dimensional canvas to paint. The figures, often Christmas themed, are brought to life because of the intricate detail, historical research, and “made in Massachusetts” hand-made techniques. Today, Vaillancourt Folk Art is one of America’s last Christmas manufacturers and is represented around the country in small family shoppes, high-end department stores, museums, and catalogs. Vaillancourt Folk Art operates with one goal in mind: starting your family tradition by creating that special gift that will be handed down throughout generations.
